Purpose

I was born on a
cold winter’s day
when the light
was fading and
the frost lay thick
and frigid high
above sea level

You think
I can’t remember
but my cells do

I know the moment
my spark entered my body
I know the moment I knew
what I was here to do

It was never spoken

Spoken can get broken

Sparks can set a bush fire
others don’t like raging fires
keep flames safely in the hearth

I have kept the spark
tended it and
I know for sure
I am the one
I have been waiting for
